15:00 The challenges of doing a PhD abroad during a pandemic

Debora Lind is a former LiU student who is now working towards her PhD at the Institute of Virology and Immunology in Switzerland. She studies the impact of a group of cytosolic protease inhibitors that are highly expressed in granulated immune cells and is investigating their role in regulating the survival of these cells in steady-state and during infection, using both in vivo and in vitro models.

15:30 A program alumni in a Health-Tech Company

I am a former student at both the bachelor program Medical Biology and the masters program Experimental and Medical Biosciences. My main group is in Operations (routine production) but I also work with the Research & Development team. In the routine production I analyse STIs, BV/Candida, celiac disease, covid PCR, covid antibodies and more. My projects currently in the R&D group is implementation of our celiac test onto automatic instruments as well as working with IVDR compliance (in-vitro diagnostic regulation).
